An easy to make, delicate cookie…nice for wedding receptions.
Original recipe makes 3 – 4 dozen
Ingredients
2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup white sugar
1 cup shortening
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped walnuts
Directions
- Combine dry ingredients. Cream sugar, shortening, egg and vanilla. Mix dry ingredients into creamed mixture and blend in nuts.
- Roll into balls, place on cookie sheet and flatten with a fork. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 10 to 12 minutes.
