Easy Rich Chocolate Cake

This is a very easy-to-make chocolate cake. Also very rich! It’s sure to please.

Original recipe makes 1 – 9 x 13 inch sheet cake

Ingredients

1 (18.25 ounce) package devil’s food cake mix
3 eggs
1/2 cup butter
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans
4 cups confectioners’ sugar
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  2. Mix cake mix, 1 egg, and butter; press into prepared cake pan. Top with chocolate chips and nuts.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix confectioner’s sugar, 2 eggs, and cream cheese. Pour mixture over the cake mix base.
  4. Bake until cream cheese layer is bubbly and golden and a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean, about 30 minutes. Cool before serving.
