These use only 1/2 cup butter.
Original recipe makes 4 dozen
Ingredients
1 1/8 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup light brown sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Directions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F ( 190 degrees C).
- Sift together in a large bowl flour, baking soda and salt. To this add sugars, egg, vanilla extract and butter. Beat until smooth and well blended. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips.
- Drop by teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden colored. Cool on wire rack.
