A not-so-sweet white frosting alternative that is great for all cakes and decorating needs. This may be tinted with food color if you like.
Original recipe makes 1 frosting for 2 layer 8 inch cake
Ingredients
1 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups confectioners’ sugar
1/4 cup milk
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon almond extract

Directions
- In a large bowl, beat shortening and sugar together until smooth. slowly mix in milk, vanilla and almond extract. Beat on high speed of an electric mixer for 5 to 7 minutes, scraping often, until mixture is light and fluffy.
