Sponge Fingers

These are soft and very, very good.

Original recipe makes 2 dozen

Ingredients

6 eggs
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon anise extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).
  2. Beat six eggs. Add sugar, oil, and anise flavoring and mix well.
  3. Mix in the flour and baking powder. Beat well.
  4. Smooth batter into a 10 x 15 inch greased and floured pan. Bake for 25 – 30 minutes. Cool then cut in strips.
