This is good for my husband’s lunches and something my 12-year-old can eat without much hassle. My family loves these. They are quick and easy to make for lunches on busy days.
Wraps and Rolls
Quick and Easy Peach Pie Egg Rolls with Raspberry Sauce
I had to make a dessert really quickly because we had some friends over for dinner. Unfortunately I lent out my car and was unable to make it to the grocery store. All I had was a can of peach pie filling, some raspberry jam, cream cheese, egg roll wrappers, and some vanilla ice cream in the freezer.
Quick Egg Roll Dipping Sauce
Beat the flavor of the ‘included sauce’ (usually not too hard) with this quick and easy dipping sauce that only requires a few Asian ingredients! If you want to make this into a teriyaki, just add a bit of brown sugar (2 tbsp) and then cook it over low heat, adding a tablespoon of cornstarch for a thicker, glossier glaze-type sauce.
Burrito Canapes
This is a delicious appetizer to be served with the salsa of your choice. I have served this many times and have gotten rave reviews.
Fruishi Spring Rolls
These are a fun and healthy treats for breakfast, dessert, or a party appetizer. Easily adaptable to suit any taste and any season. Great for vegetarians. The prep and cooking times are approximate and account for blanching fruits and slicing. Next time I will try different fruits and preserve flavors, and maybe candied bananas instead of rice.
Cheesy Chicken Wraps
Super quick and easy chicken that is easily varied! This is great to play with: add part of a ranch seasoning packet, garlic, or maybe add some scallions. You can also switch up the cheeses! Great with pepper jack cheese. When I make it fairly plain my son likes to dip the roll ups in ranch.
Crunchy Pepperoni Sticks
Ordinary breadsticks become irresistible wrapped in thin slices of Margherita® sandwich pepperoni with garlic cheese and a dash of thyme, rosemary, or basil.
Wrapped Asparagus
A sophisticated blend of lemon, garlic, asparagus, delicate goat cheese and tasty Margherita® Prosciutto, make for a delicious appetizer, an attractive buffet item or a savory side dish.
Margherita® Pepperoni Antipasto Lettuce Wraps
Put an Italian spin on this traditional Asian dish with bibb lettuce filled with fresh antipasto made from Margherita® Pepperoni, artichoke hearts, roasted red peppers, capers and your favorite Italian cheese.
Sausage-Stuffed Crescent Cornucopias
Using Pillsbury™ crescent rolls, you can make these awesome tasty cornucopias to serve as an appetizer or a side to your dinner.
PHILLY Tortilla Roll-Ups
Need a make-ahead appetizer for your next get-together? Rolled up with chopped carrots and broccoli, these cream cheese tortilla roll-ups make perfect little appetizers – all in one awesome bite.
Sausage-Filled Stars
This is a fabulous appetizer; it does take a little time to prepare, but the taste is well worth it. If you want to freeze them for later use, they turn out just as good; just pop them in the freezer after filling the cups and then bake a bit longer then in the original recipe.
Egg Roll Reuben Wraps
Deli-fusion: egg roll meets the Reuben. These are really good. We had them at the Tula Restaurant in Monroe, Connecticut, and I had to copy theirs. Serve with Thousand Island salad dressing as a dipping sauce.
Natalie Powell’s Knishes
My grandmother is of eastern European Jewish descent so this is a very authentic recipe!
Corn Chowder Phyllo Rolls
I always have bunches of leftover corn chowder! This is a great appetizer everyone will enjoy.
Asian Style Paper Wrapped Chicken
Paper-wrapped chicken like in a pu pu platter. It is called ‘Paper Wrapped’ although it is actually wrapped in aluminum foil. This is one of the best appetizers I have ever had at an Asian restaurant and this is my attempt to duplicate it. It goes very well on the pu pu platter.
Make-Ahead Spinach Phyllo Roll-Ups from PHILADELPHIA®
A delicious mixture of cream cheese, chopped spinach, and feta cheese is rolled up in phyllo sheets and baked for a delicious appetizer that can be prepared ahead or even frozen.
Tomato Pesto Tart
Pesto, plump tomatoes and mozzarella cheese are layered on a flaky puff pastry crust — when cut into ‘small bites’, this makes a perfect appetizer for a cocktail or dinner party.
Coney Knish
These are awesome! Straight out of Brooklyn is the Coney knish with a flaky crust and filled with potato, fried onion, and yes, hot dogs. These tasty treats are very popular in Brooklyn kosher deli and take out places. Sometimes I’ll cut each one into 3 or 4 pieces before baking and serve them as a hot appetizer. Serve with a side of spicy brown mustard for dipping.
Chicken Mummies
These chicken mummies are perfect for a fun but healthy Halloween dinner to fuel your little ghouls and goblins for a long night of trick-or-treating. They are also a hit at adult Halloween parties. This recipe can be tailored quite easily: chicken tenders can be marinated in your choice of marinade before cooking; different flavored tortillas can also change the look and taste. Serve with your choice of condiments; salsa, guacamole, and sour cream go well, as do barbecue sauce or even ketchup.
