Kate’s Chocolate Chip Kookies

I may be young, but I know a darn good cookie when I taste one! I stumbled upon this recipe by mistake, when I didn’t have enough of the right ingredient!

Original recipe makes 3 dozen

Ingredients

1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup butter
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup milk chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. Mix together butter, shortening, and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla, then mix.
  3. Add flours and baking soda. Stir. Add chocolate chips. Stir.
  4. Drop by teaspoonful on greased cookie sheet. DO NOT FLATTEN. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
