Granola Bars II

A simple yet delicious recipe for granola bars. This makes a great base to customize with your own special ingredients.

Original recipe makes 1 9×13 inch pan


1 cup butter
1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
3 cups rolled oats
1 cup wheat bran
1 teaspoon baking powder


  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, vanilla and cinnamon until light. Combine the oats, bran and baking powder, stir into the butter mixture. Press evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  3. Bake for 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Cool, and cut into bars.
