This recipe has been handed down from my great-great grandmother at least. We’re not sure how far it goes back, but does go back to the early 1900’s at least.
Sugar Cookies
Molasses Sugar Cookies II
These taste like a ginger cookie. They can be either crispy or chewy, depending on when they are taken out of the oven. Balls of dough are formed, then rolled in sugar and baked.
German Cut-Out Cookies
This is a family favorite. The dough is very easy to handle and no need to refrigerate. Great for the holidays!
Child-Proof Sugar Cookies
This recipe is great for first time cookie makers and kindergartners. They are easy and lots of fun. The children in my classes have never messed up a batch of these cookies in the fourteen years I’ve been teaching kindergarten, and neither have my four adorable children. You can use whole wheat flour in place of the all-purpose flour, if you wish.
Great Grandad’s Sugar Cookies
This recipe puffs up to make great Sugar cookies. My Great Grandfather was a baker, and this is the kind the bakery made. To make sour milk, add a teaspoon of vinegar to regular milk, and let stand for 5 minutes.
Cinnamon Sugar Cookies
A traditional refrigerator cookie rolled in cinnamon sugar before baking. Great for making ahead of time.
No Roll Sugar Cookies
Easy to make and no fuss with rolling them out, plus they have that delightful melt-in-your-mouth texture.

Thick Cut-Outs
A big batch of big thick sugar cookies. These are THE big soft sugar cookies you have been looking for. Frost them while warm and sprinkle with colored sugar.
Sugar Cookies with Buttercream Frosting
These cookies are melt-in-your-mouth delicious. They are simple to make and kids love to lick the frosting off the tops. Butter flavoring is in the buttercream for added flavor. You can find it in most supermarkets, in the baking aisle, where there are other flavorings such as vanilla.
Butter Icing for Sugar Cookies
Here’s a terrific recipe for icing sugar cookies, no raw egg whites. For any recipes that require egg whites, you can purchase dried, powdered egg whites at cake-decorating supply stores that can be substituted in most recipes calling for the regular raw egg whites, then you can still lick the bowl!
Soft Sugar Cookies V
These cookies, which contain sour cream, are the softest sugar cookies ever! I find that if I roll them a little thick and do not overbake, they are best and stay moist. Use whatever cookie cutters that suit the occasion!
Blue Ribbon Sugar Cookies
A light, crispy but tender sugar cookie loaded with flavor. These cookies are especially requested at Christmas. They’re easy and definitely a crowd-pleaser.
