Cornmeal is simmered in a thick pudding sweetened with maple syrup. I’m not sure where this recipe came from, my mother would make it for us before school on cold winter days.
Healthy Breakfast and Brunch
Salad Smoothie
Going raw is a great lifestyle choice. You can find a lot of fruit smoothies that taste good. Here is a great vegetable one too.
Rebecca’s Instant Cinnamon Oatmeal
An easy way to make individual instant oatmeal packets for a fast and hearty breakfast. The kids love to help! Add raisins, honey, or fruit as toppings if you like! My family of 7 will triple the recipe and put all the filled baggies into a gallon size resealable for storage. All the kids have to do in the morning is add water and any extra toppings and then microwave.
Tropical Sunshine Smoothie
It is so yummy and amazingly refreshing! The color is a bright yellow so it does bring sunshine to your morning… Enjoy! For some added sweetness, agave honey is wonderful.
Homemade Grape Nuts®
If you enjoy Grape Nuts® cereal, try making your own with this easy recipe. This cereal has a great crunch texture and is a bit sweeter than the commercial Grape Nuts® cereal. Why make your own? Because it’s addictive and much less expensive!
Apple Potato Pancakes
We love these on Sunday mornings but have been known to have them for dinner. Serve with sour cream.
Apple Pie Oatmeal Breakfast
A hearty, filling breakfast. Keeps in the fridge for several days.
Healthy Strawberry Smoothie
This is a quick and easy high-protein breakfast smoothie using your NutriBullet®.
Summer Medley Salad
Cucumbers, cantaloupe, and honeydew–It may sound weird, but we discovered this in college.
Kiwinanaberry Cream Smoothie
I came up with this because I had a ton of kiwi that was going to go bad soon and I couldn’t find any decent recipes for kiwi so I settled on making my own smoothie. Well, it turned out I wasn’t settling because it turned out fantastic, and I normally don’t care for smoothies much. I used a bunch of different fruit, but kiwi is the main fruit here and the smoothie has a nice slightly tart, tangy, and sweet taste. I use soy milk, but non-fat milk would taste the same. I also used tangelos because that’s what I had, but oranges or tangerines would work just as well.
Flax Seed Smoothie
A basic smoothie that incorporates omega 3-rich flax seed. A good source of fiber and a quick and low-calorie grab in the morning.
Orange Sunrise Smoothie
This thick and creamy, fresh fruit smoothie will satisfy your sweet tooth without stretching your waistband!
Tropical Smoothie with Kale
Don’t be afraid of kale! This tropical smoothie tastes more like pineapple and banana, it just happens to be bright green.
Creamy Strawberry-Pineapple Smoothie
A great and super healthy smoothie for anytime! Under 200 calories per serving!
Apple Cinnamon Breakfast Quinoa
A super healthy breakfast packed full of protein with the delicious flavor of apples and cinnamon. Enjoy!
Strawberry Sensation Smoothie
Strawberry and orange flavors will be sure to perk up your morning! Replace fruit, juice, and yogurt flavors as desired for variety.
