Filling enough to have as a breakfast – I recommend it!
Delicious and easy, this is a fabulous mix of berries and yogurt! If you like, you can make a thin layer of graham crackers or granola in each vanilla/berry layer. That gives it a little more crunch.
If you already think oatmeal is good, this recipe makes it even better! I eat this every morning! Yum!
I love mangoes and fresh fruit. This is awesome to make and pack to have with you around town in a bottle, or just have for breakfast anytime.
This creamy oatmeal is perfect for those cozy winter mornings with a good cup of coffee. Or serve it to your kids with some hot chocolate. Not too sweet, not too bland, and it has fresh fruit!
This is a great smoothie consisting of fruit, fruit juice and ice. I like to use whatever fresh fruits I crave that day. Any kind of berry, mangos, papayas, kiwi fruit, et cetera make a great smoothie. Experiment with your favorites!
Looking for ideas for the quinoa you picked up at Trader Joe’s? Here’s a dairy and wheat free breakfast porridge thick, rich and delish for those cold mornings in the Andes. Those with nut allergies may wish to substitute soymilk or regular cow’s milk for the almond. Adjust sugar to your taste or substitute with agave syrup or black strap molasses (use half as much). This recipe can easily be doubled.
This large parfait can be made for a delicious breakfast – or it can be halved for a yummy snack. Enjoy it using fresh or frozen blueberries, but fresh strawberries are recommended.
This hot cereal is a delicious twist on oatmeal with some added protein and fiber to help satisfy you and keep you full. It’s a great start for a good morning! Sometimes I heat up the water and milk real quick and let the quinoa soak while I’m in the shower, that way it can cook while I get ready and only needs a couple more minutes once everything else is added. Top with granola, if desired. Apple slices and/or sauce can be substituted for banana.
This delicious smoothie is sweetened with natural sugars. Replace any of the fruit ingredients with your favorites if you like, but make sure one of them is frozen to make it nice and thick!
Gorgeous colour and absolutely refreshing. Use your favorite canned fruit – I prefer peaches or pears.
A fast and healthy breakfast cereal or high-energy snack. Oatmeal made with coconut, raisins, cranberries, walnuts. Brown rice can be used in place of oatmeal.
When I went on a 6 day kayaking trip, our guides whipped this up one morning over the campfire. It was delicious and I started making it at home.
After much experimentation I finally got this smoothie recipe right. Frozen berries, strawberry yogurt and a whole banana are pureed in blender for a delicious, drinkable treat.
